GMOs
or NO GMOs?
The choice should be ours
BEUC, the European Consumers Organisation, represents 34 consumer
organisations, from all EU countries as well as accession countries.
Main consumer demands in relation to genetically
modified food:
• Information must be provided on whether a food or food
ingredients have been genetically modified
• All ingredients derived from GMOs (such as oil) must be
labelled even if no longer detectable by testing
• Misleading GMO-free labels are not an acceptable solution
for consumers
